The healthcare industry’s overall hiring activity declined 3.35% when compared with February 2022.

Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 1.6% share of the global healthcare industry’s hiring activity in March 2022, up 0.22% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of March 2022 were 2.96% lower when compared with the previous month.
The decrease was a result of 5.67% higher job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 42.74% emerged as the top IT occupation in the healthcare hiring activity in March 2022, an 8.44% growth over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in second with a share of 16.57% in March 2022, up 25.66% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 15.72% share in March 2022, a growth of 49.31% over the previous month, and Computer Support Specialists with a 12.84% share in March 2022 and a rise of 17.65% over February 2022.
Top five healthcare companies by recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.81% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global healthcare industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Intermountain Healthcare posted 460 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 1.29% over the previous month, followed by Apria Healthcare Group with 455 jobs and a 139.47% growth. CVS Health with 196 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 147 jobs, recorded a 4.39% decline and a 2.65% drop, respectively.
Regional composition of IT hiring in healthcare industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global healthcare IT hiring activity in March 2022 with a 94.87% share, which marked a 9.24% rise over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 2.74%, registering a 16.81% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 1.87% share and a 3.03% drop over February 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.26% and a month-on-month rise of 12.5%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.26%, registering a 125% increase over the previous month.
