Sanford USD Medical Center in South Dakota, US, has deployed McKesson’s pharmacy automation solution to help optimise productivity and improve point-of-care medication safety at its facility.
The system is expected to increase medication ordering, dispensing, administration, charge capture and inventory management processes.

Sanford is also using McKesson’s ROBOT-Rx solution to automate the storage, dispensing and restocking of about 80% of its pharmacy medications, MedCarousel dispensing systems for cart-fill and first doses, and PACMED automated barcode packaging solution.
The systems are expected to enable pharmacists, technicians, nurses and clinicians to improve medical care.
