Health Management Associates’ (HMA) subsidiary has purchased the assets of Mercy Health Partners, a subsidiary of Catholic Health Partners in the US.
The move follows the acquisition of all seven of Mercy’s hospitals, which include a total of 1,323 licensed beds as well as additional continuum-of-care services that are part of the Knoxville-based East Tennessee health system.

The former Mercy System was re-named Tennova Healthcare on 1 October 2011.
Through its subsidiaries, HMA operates 66 hospitals, with approximately 10,400 licensed beds located throughout the US.
