
Canada healthcare industry registered a 1.5% decline in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 1.89% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.4% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada healthcare industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.05% in June 2021, a 4.66% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 21.18% share, an increase of 58.06% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.23%, registering a 24.56% rise from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.93%, down 17.91% over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12.91% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada healthcare industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Desjardins Group posted 95 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 37.68% over the previous month, followed by Accenture with 89 jobs and a 61.82% growth. International Business Machines with 88 IT jobs and Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 71 jobs, recorded a 7.37% drop and a 5.33% decline, respectively, while The Travelers Companies recorded a 15.38% decline with 33 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.38%, down by 12.88% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.21% share, a growth of 46.09% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.12% share, up 60.66% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.29%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 100%.
