Canada healthcare industry registered a 6.9% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 6.73% in April 2021 compared with March 2021.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.27% share in April 2021, recording an increase of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.41% in April 2021, a 6.38% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.3% share, an increase of 41.79% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.7%, registering a 3.85% rise from March 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.57%, down 27.69% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in April 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.62% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada healthcare industry during April 2021 over March 2021.

International Business Machines posted 102 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a rise of 92.45% over the previous month, followed by Desjardins Group with 79 jobs and a 33.9% growth. The Travelers Companies with 46 IT jobs and Accenture with 43 jobs, recorded a 28.13% drop and a 34.38% increase, respectively, while Oracle recorded a 56% an increase with 39 job postings during April 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.98%, up by 21.14% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.71% share, a decline of 12.7% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.98% share, down 24.39% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month decline of 77.78%.
