August 2021 has seen a decrease of 11.77% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 23.09% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 2.22% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 68.06% in August 2021, a 34.81% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.72% in August 2021, marking a 33.07% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.65% in August 2021, a 31.81% drop from July 2021.

Top five healthcare companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 38.63% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s healthcare industry during August 2021 over previous month.

DXC Technology posted 1,201 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 34.08% over the previous month, followed by KBC Group with 499 jobs and a 53.92% drop. Atos with 249 IT jobs and International Business Machines with 199 jobs, recorded a 13.7% rise and a 63.75% drop, respectively, while Zurich Insurance Group recorded a 58.72% increase with 173 job postings during August 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s healthcare industry

Switzerland commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 33.95% share in August 2021, a 33.24% decrease over July 2021. The UK featured next with a 7.68% share, down 29.29% over the previous month. Belgium recorded a 6.67% share, a drop of 27.68% compared with July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.11%, down by 34.85% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.05% share, registered a decline of 39.62% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.05% share, down 29.76% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.8%, recording a month-on-month growth of 52.63%.
