Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 23%, emerged as the top internet of things-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q1 2023, with new job postings drop by 26% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations came in second with a share of 14% in Q1 2023, with new job postings dropping by 27% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent internet of things roles include Healthcare Support Occupations with an 11% share in Q1 2023, Management Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 70% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2023 were Ochsner Health System, Accenture, Cisco Systems, International Business Machines, and Carbon Health Medical Group. Together they accounted for a combined share of 70% of all internet of things-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.

Ochsner Health System posted 2,084 internet of things-related new jobs in Q1 2023, Accenture 432 jobs, Cisco Systems 347 jobs, International Business Machines 213 jobs, and Carbon Health Medical Group 178 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 71.58% share of total new job postings, Q1 2023

The largest share of internet of things-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q1 2023 was in the US with 71.58% followed by India (9.63%) and the UK (3.35%). The share represented by the US was six percentage points lower than the 78.01% share it accounted for in Q4 2022.
