April 2021 has seen an increase of 2.51% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.27% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2021, registering an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 59.68% in April 2021, a 9.62% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 12.2% in April 2021, marking a 5.05% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.62% in April 2021, a 0.19% drop from March 2021.

Top five healthcare companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.48% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s healthcare industry during April 2021 over previous month.

International Business Machines posted 1,266 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Cisco Systems with 575 jobs and a 15.69% growth. Oracle with 555 IT jobs and AT&T with 494 jobs, recorded a 5.51% growth and a 25.26% drop, respectively, while Accenture recorded a 6.25% decline with 345 job postings during April 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s healthcare industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 90.92% share in April 2021, an 8.44% rise over March 2021. Canada featured next with a 6.87% share, up 5.97% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.2% share, a drop of 30.42% compared with March 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.51%, up by 36.57% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.64% share, a decline of 25.35% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.8% share, down 50.98% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.05%, recording a month-on-month growth of 9.2%.
