Europe witnessed a 7.2% drop in IT hiring activity in the healthcare industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 22.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 2.53% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 71.44% in September 2021, a 7.33% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 12.06% in September 2021, marking an 8.52% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.2% in September 2021, a 25.42% drop from August 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 4.2% in September 2021, a 23.66% decline over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 11.99% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s healthcare industry during September 2021 over previous month.
DXC Technology posted 1,117 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 7.53% over the previous month, followed by International Business Machines with 357 jobs and a 66.05% growth. Atos with 252 IT jobs and KBC Group with 240 jobs, recorded a 3.82% drop and a 54.72% drop, respectively, while Zurich Insurance Group recorded a 21.64% decline with 134 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s healthcare industry
Switzerland commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 34.48% share in September 2021, a 0.77% decrease over August 2021. The UK featured next with an 8.69% share, down 7.84% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 6.98% share, a drop of 3.28% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.05%, down by 13.93% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.09% share, registered a growth of 5.84% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.57% share, down 6.39% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.3%, recording a month-on-month decline of 61.54%.
