Europe witnessed an 8.2% drop in IT hiring activity in the healthcare industry in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

June 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.21% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 1.43% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 36.67% in June 2022, a 31.25% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 30% in June 2022, marking a 12.5% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 26.67% in June 2022, a 50% drop from May 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 3.33% in June 2022, a 66.67% decline over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 21.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s healthcare industry during June 2022 over previous month.

Elanco Animal Health posted 5 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by Spire Healthcare Group with 3 jobs and a 50% drop. CompuGroup Medical SEKGaA with 3 IT jobs and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust with 2 jobs, recorded a 62.5% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Fontys University of Applied Sciences recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s healthcare industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 50% share in June 2022, a 6.25% decrease over May 2022. Germany featured next with a 20% share, down 25% over the previous month. Netherlands recorded a 6.67% share, a flat growth compared with May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.33%, down by 26.47% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.33% share, registered a decline of 55.56% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.33% share, down 50% over May 2022.
