May 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.59% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 0.83% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 33.25% in May 2022, a 34.01% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 21.99% in May 2022, marking a 24.34% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16.88% in May 2022, a 20.48% drop from April 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 15.26% in May 2022, a 49.17% rise over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 42.4% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s healthcare industry during May 2022 over previous month.
CVS Health posted 124 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 11.71% over the previous month, followed by Apria Healthcare Group with 92 jobs and a 17.86% drop. Teladoc Health with 48 IT jobs and McKesson with 32 jobs, recorded a 242.86% rise and a 20% drop, respectively, while Intermountain Healthcare recorded an 89.62% decline with 30 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s healthcare industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 97.7% share in May 2022, an 18.55% decrease over April 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.05% share, down 31.43% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.26% share, a growth of 50% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.95%, down by 5.8% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.82% share, registered a decline of 46.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.14% share, down 4.29% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.09%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
