Abris CEE Mid-Market III LP fund has signed an agreement to acquire complete shares in Polish healthcare network operator Scanmed from Life Healthcare Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Abris is managed by private equity investor in Central Europe, Abris Capital Partners.

After completion of the acquisition, Abris plans to support Scanmed in the extension of its service offering and geographic coverage.

Scanmed will also be able to improve its medical facilities and care in key therapeutic areas.

Furthermore, the company plans to increase commercial revenues in orthopedics, ophthalmology, rehabilitation and urogynecology, and open new labs, surgery units.

Scanmed currently operates two multi-specialist hospitals, 13 cardiac centres that offer comprehensive diagnostics and cardiological treatment, and various clinics and medical centers across Poland.

The company provides outpatient care services in cities including Warsaw, Kraków, Poznan, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Pabianice.

Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of next year.

Earlier, Abris invested in Polish aesthetic medicine products vendor ITP and Dentotal Protect, which distributes dental consumables, instruments and equipment in Romania.

Scanmed operates 42 locations across Poland and provides primary healthcare and specialist consultations, advanced diagnostics and hospital treatment.
