US-based diagnostic software company Arkstone Medical Solutions has partnered with Peruvian medical technology company Neslab to introduce antimicrobial stewardship tools in Peru.
The collaboration aims to improve patient care by providing precision-guided infectious disease treatment across Peru, as well as addressing the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

It will also introduce data-driven clinical insights to physicians across the country.
Arkstone and Neslab said they aim to ‘revolutionise’ infectious disease management by giving healthcare providers across Peru access to ‘world-class’ clinical decision-support tools alongside Neslab’s local expertise.
Arkstone Medical Solutions global partnerships manager Steve Brennan said: “Most healthcare systems outside the US are predominantly government-managed.
“Our partnership with Neslab in Peru will allow us to reach a much broader patient population, far beyond private labs and clinics.
“This alliance reinforces our commitment to combating antimicrobial resistance on a global scale.”
The integration of Arkstone’s OneChoice technology with Neslab’s SIMCORE software platform will give Peruvian healthcare professionals access to real-time, evidence-based guidance and treatment recommendations.
The OneChoice technology is designed to provide AI-enhanced clinical decision support along with optimised recommendations on treatments.
Arkstone’s partnership with Neslab aims to allow this technology to be integrated smoothly with Peru’s public hospital information systems, promoting a data-informed strategy for antibiotic stewardship.
This approach seeks to improve patient outcomes by minimising any inappropriate or unnecessary uses of antibiotics.
