New South Wales (NSW) Deputy Premier Prue Car and Health Minister Ryan Park have inaugurated the northern entrance of Campbelltown Hospital in Australia, marking the completion of the extensive A$632m ($413.49m) Stage II redevelopment.
This component connects directly to the main hospital concourse, Hospital Street, to improve access to services for all users.
Since the redevelopment began in 2018, a 12-storey clinical services building has been added and existing buildings at the hospital campus have been refurbished.
The clinical services building has received 158,044 emergency department presentations and 9,619 surgical procedures since being opened in 2022.
Its features include an expanded emergency department, a future-ready intensive care unit and enhanced surgical services, as well as digital operating theatres, a new children’s unit and expanded maternity and women’s services.
Refurbishments at the Campbelltown Hospital’s existing buildings include the expansion of the pathology laboratory, pharmacy, renal dialysis unit, clinical information department and cancer therapy centre.
