Florida Hospital has partnered with GE Healthcare Partners , a management consultancy firm, to design and build a high-tech command centre to transform clinical operations at the hospital sites in Central Florida.
This centre will make use of predictive analytics to help hospital staff provide safe, and optimised clinical operations.
The command centre will function just as NASA’s mission control, but will focus on managing patient care delivery at the nine hospital locations in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
Every year, these nine hospitals handle above 2,000,000 patient visits.
Leveraging the existing IT systems, the command centre’s Wall of Analytics gathers data from several systems and then applies artificial intelligence algorithms to spot difficulties. This will enable staff to prioritise patient-care activities and discharges, make short-term staff decisions and solve potential problems even before they occur.
The technology will expedite required patient care and reduce wait times. In addition, providers can streamline their services in critical clinical situations, using near real-time data.
