Health Opportunities for the People of East Texas (HOPE) in Texas, US, has begun using eClinicalWorks’ AI-powered medical scribe, Sunoh.ai, in an effort to improve its patient interactions and clinical documentation.

By integrating Sunoh.ai with eClinicalWorks’ electronic health record (EHR) system, HOPE aims to streamline its behavioural health workflows.

The technology has reportedly reduced documentation time, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient engagement instead of administrative tasks.

HOPE said this has helped its licensed professional counsellors (LPCs) and LPC-associate counsellors by allowing them to monitor patients’ eye contact and body language, which are essential aspects of patient interactions in behavioural health.

HOPE IT specialist Jacob Bragg said: “This innovative solution has resolved all the challenges with our behavioural health workflows, reducing our documentation time.

“It has empowered us to effectively track patient progress, quickly review past sessions, and make data-driven treatment decisions.

“Previously, the documentation burden had compelled us to limit the number of patients we could see each day. Now, we can serve more patients while maintaining exceptional care delivery.”

HOPE Community Medicine is a federally qualified health centre that provides comprehensive healthcare to patients in East Texas, regardless of their socio-economic status.

The centre offers a range of services, including medical, behavioural health, and obstetrics and gynaecology (OB/GYN).

It aims to give every patient access to personalised medical care through patient engagement and support services, such as translation, insurance guidance, transportation assistance and flexible payment options.

eClinicalWorks CEO and co-founder Girish Navani said: “The integration with Sunoh.ai, an AI-powered medical scribe, aims to streamline clinical operations and enhance patient engagement.

“We are confident it will continue to play a vital role in helping HOPE Community Medicine reach its objectives, combined with the eClinicalWorks unified solutions for health centres.”

Earlier this month, US-based health centre Oak Orchard Health began using Sunoh.ai to improve patient care and practice operations.
