Loma Linda University (LLU) Health has partnered with Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, to build and operate an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Loma Linda, California, US.
The free-standing 80-bed facility will aim to address the increasing need for specialised rehabilitation services in the region.
It will offer therapy for various areas, including occupational, physical and speech, as well as intensive nursing services for adults recovering from debilitating illnesses or injuries, neurological diseases, strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries and other serious conditions.
The facility will almost double the LLU health system’s existing inpatient rehabilitation care capacity.
All of LLU Health’s existing inpatient rehabilitation units will be transitioned to the new facility once it is operational.
The facility’s development is expected to begin next year subject to regulatory approvals, with its opening due in 2027.
