NextGen Patient Portal is an online tool that offers patients secure communication with providers, while NextGen Population Health is a protocol-based communication solution that integrates with core NextGen solutions to track and enhance patient care.

NextGen EHR Connect is an interoperability package designed to enable NextGen Ambulatory EHR to exchange standards-based data with any Health Information Exchange (HIE), disease registry state designated entity, or public health entity in real time, within normal provider workflows.

AVH will also implement NextGen’s Emergency Department solution at Galion Community Hospital to help manage emergency department patients and increase work flow.

The NextGen technology will help AHS improve access to patient data and appointment scheduling, enhance flexibility to handle high patient volumes, streamline workflow and develop more comprehensive claims management capabilities.

In adition, the NextGen Population Health and NextGen Patient Portal will improve electronic communication and clinical data exchange between physicians and patients.

"We are confident that implementing these leading NextGen Healthcare solutions will not only help us meet regulatory requirements, but also improve the connectivity and communications between physicians, patients and our entire health system."

With NextGen EHR Connect, AHS will also be able to exchange standards-based data with CliniSync, the statewide Health Information Exchange based in Ohio, allowing it to share vital patient data across care communities, in real time within the existing workflow.

AHS information services director Alex Reed said, "Our overall mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve and with NextGen Healthcare, we found a partner with a proven track record that shares our vision for improving patient outcomes and achieving concrete results."

"We are confident that implementing these leading NextGen Healthcare solutions will not only help us meet regulatory requirements, but also improve the connectivity and communications between physicians, patients and our entire health system," Reed added.

Avita Health System consists of two hospitals – Bucyrus and Galion – in addition to more than 20 medical offices located in Crawford and Richland counties.
