Hanover Hospital has selected iMDsoft’s clinical information system, MetaVision, as the anaesthesia information management system (AIMS) for all of its operating rooms.
The technology will be implemented alongside a new MEDITECH electronic health record system at the 108-licensed-bed general, medical and surgical hospital in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
iMDsoft offers strong integration capabilities, opening options and caters to organisations that want a specialised system for their high-acuity environments.
The company’s MetaVision software was selected by Hanover Hospital based on its impressive track record of successful implementations in other MEDITECH organisations in the US.
MetaVision automatically generates a complete, accurate, billable anaesthesia record, effortlessly capturing patient data, clinical events and clinician actions.
Hanover Hospital department of anaesthesia chair Dr Stuart Maschke said: "We selected this new system because it is a specialised form of an electronic medical record (EMR) that provides the ability to accurately and reliably record intraoperative patient information, including vital signs and events, allowing the anaesthesiologist to focus on the patient rather than charting."
The system incorporates advanced clinical decision support to allow anaesthesiologists to make the best decision possible for the patient throughout the operative procedure.
iMDsoft CEO Mike Myers said that lack of compliance with clinical and administrative protocols can impact both patient care and an organisation’s bottom line.
"More and more organisations are choosing MetaVision alongside hospital-wide electronic health records like MEDITECH to meet, track and report on their quality indicators. We feel confident that Hanover Hospital will quickly realise the benefits of our best-of-breed AIMS," Myers said.
Hanover Hospital offers a full range of medical and surgical services to the people of the Greater Hanover area. The additional services, including lab, imaging and rehabilitation, are available at satellite facilities in South Hanover, Spring Grove, Littlestown and New Oxford.
