Siemens Healthcare has installed five Ysio X-ray systems at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital in Lancashire, UK.

The hospital is part of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Siemens installed two systems at the A&E department, two more systems in the outpatient department, and the fifth system in the cardiac department.

Blackpool Victoria Hospital radiology clinical manager Lesley Stanney said: "Before choosing which systems to select, the Trust undertook an evaluation of many other products as well as visiting other hospitals to gain feedback of peers using the systems.

"The Ysio X-ray systems image more than 200 patients per day, and its table design offers less aches and pains for radiographers using the systems."

"The overwhelming conclusion was that the Ysio from Siemens Healthcare would be the best fit for our hospital."

The systems will aid the hospital’s radiology department, as it undertakes 136,000 examinations every year.
