University Health System has selected Conifer Health Solutions, a healthcare services company, for comprehensive revenue cycle management operations at its 452-bed University Health Shreveport and 247-bed University Health Conway.

Under the terms of the contract agreement, Conifer Health will provide its revenue cycle management expertise to help the newly formed health system to focus on its mission of providing the finest patient experience and improving the health of the community it serves.

The patient-centric services delivered by Conifer Health will include medical eligibility and financial counseling, denials prevention and management and accounts receivable management aimed at improving patient experience, cutting costs and enhancing yield.

University Health System president and CEO Richard Cascio said that the hospital has entrusted Conifer Health with critical revenue management functions because the company has demonstrated value, expertise and the ability to produce tangible results.

"Partnering with Conifer Health allows us to focus on delivering the quality patient care that area residents expect from University Health as an essential part of the northern Louisiana community," Cascio added.

Conifer Health’s revenue cycle management and shared-services model is expected to help University Health by accelerating its readiness to shift from a fee-for-service environment to a fee-for-value healthcare system.
