The University of Michigan will open the $754m C S Mott Children’s Hospital next month, it was announced at a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony last week.
The 1.1 million square foot facility comprises a 12-storey inpatient wing, a nine-storey outpatient wing and 348 patient beds, 16 operating rooms and other clinical facilities.
University of Michigan Medical Affairs executive vice-president Pescovitz said that new hospital will provide advanced and quality medical care for children, their mothers and families.
Of the total expenditure, around $75m was funded by philanthropic donations.
