Intermountain Healthcare, a non-profit integrated health system based in Utah, has selected Elsevier’s ClinicalKey to provide electronic medical reference and knowledge-based information to its clinicians and medical libraries.
ClinicalKey, launched in 2012, is a dynamic clinical resource designed to provide physicians with fast, clinically-relevant answers from Elsevier’s comprehensive library of proprietary medical and surgical content.
The clinical reference search engine provides evidence-based answers, as well as expert commentary, MEDLINE abstracts and select third-party journals.
The engine is powered by Elsevier’s Smart Content, tagged with EMMeT (Elsevier Merged Medical Taxonomy), which enables ClinicalKey to understand clinical terms and thus discover the most relevant medical content.
Intermountain Healthcare information services medical director Dr Chris Wood said the hospital selected ClinicalKey as a clinical reference solution for its extensive search and reference capabilities and its deep content, from journal articles and textbooks to procedure videos and drug information.
"ClinicalKey will help our medical teams across our system access some of the most relevant, in-depth clinical information available, helping them to deliver the best patient care and patient education," Dr Wood added.
