US-based Northwell Health has signed an agreement with healthcare software provider Epic to adopt the next-generation electronic health record (EHR) as part of its continuous digital transformation to provide a flawless patient and team member experience.
Epic offers an integrated solution that will result in a single patient record across all Northwell locations and improve care coordination.
New York State’s largest health system Northwell Health has 21 hospitals and around 900 outpatient facilities and plans to launch the new EHR in phases, starting with the initial go-live in 2025.
Northwell Enterprise Services executive vice-president Joseph Moscola said: “Implementing Epic at Northwell will require a multi-year effort re-visioning the consumer experience, clinical workflow and standards followed by configuration and ultimately activation.
“We are at the start of an exciting digital transformation journey, which includes utilising Google Cloud to discover data insights and refining our customer relationship management to create personalised experiences.”
Northwell is investing in an EHR technology that will transform the way the organisation delivers care and controls the revenue cycle.
