The new enterprise strategy will use the collaboration of Teladoc Health with Microsoft, thereby enhancing clinical collaboration and communication among clinicians of Northwell.
Leveraging Teladoc Health’s virtual care platform, Northwell Health patients will be able to access the wide spectrum of clinical services through a unified consumer experience.
Initially, 20 of Northwell Health’s hospitals will implement the platform. It will be gradually expanded to additional affiliates and will enable direct to patient scheduled visits for all clinicians.
Teladoc Health hospital and health systems president Andy Puterbaugh said: “Teladoc Health is poised to help Northwell Health evolve its virtual care strategy through continued innovation that naturally extends its infrastructure to meet more patient care needs.

Last July, Teladoc Health combined its Solo platform and Microsoft Teams for integrating clinical and administrative medical office operations.
The integration will enable Northwell Health clinicians to deliver care virtually.
Northwell Health clinical strategy and development associate chief medical officer and senior vice-president Martin Doerfler said: “Northwell Health is driving to improve access to quality health care and to provide wellness support for our communities.
“This relationship with Teladoc Health will allow us to optimise our direct-to-consumer telehealth programmes to provide the highest quality care and access for all; just as we want and expect for ourselves.”
The health system has 22 hospitals and 830 outpatient facilities.
