Shifa Hospital Oman has strengthened its heart and vascular care services by opening a new High-Tech Hybrid Cath Lab facility, reported Zawya.

Featuring GE Healthcare’s Allia IGS 7 image-guided therapy system, the new Cath Lab is designed to serve patients with heart and vascular conditions.

Allia integrates advanced imaging technology with interventional devices to support procedures that are minimally invasive.

Leveraging GE Healthcare’s Edison intelligence platform, the solution provides an AI-based imaging chain to lower radiation dose and contrast for interventional procedures, enabling more accurate diagnostics and informed decision-making to boost treatment effectiveness.

Its deployment is said to offer more precision in complex procedures as well as cut down risks for the hospital.

The new facility is claimed to be the first of its type in the private healthcare industry of the region.
