Sparrow has announced the construction of new outpatient surgery centre and medical office facility in Lansing, Michigan, US.
The three-story, 100,000 square foot surgery centre will come up on Michigan Avenue on Sparrow’s main Sparrow Hospital campus.
The outpatient surgery centre is expected to support the growth of same-day surgeries.
Set to occupy multiple lots near the northwest corner of Michigan and Pennsylvania, the project will increase convenience as well as access to patients.
Furthermore, it will protect jobs in the area and provide potential employment growth.
The latest move comes in response to an increase in outpatient surgeries and will free up capacity for inpatient procedures at Sparrow Hospital.
Sparrow said in a statement: “As the region’s only community-based and community-governed health system, we are committed to improving access and quality of care for Lansing and surrounding communities.
“The project continues our investment in the Michigan Avenue corridor. Sparrow has been a cornerstone of the corridor for more than 100 years and we are proud of our continued role in the development of the City of Lansing and the Mid-Michigan region.”
Sparrow further added that it continues to transform care and implement best practices, while delivering better care and the investment will help achieve this.
Affiliated with the Michigan Medicine through the Sparrow Children’s Center and with Michigan State University’s three human health colleges, Sparrow includes hospitals in various regions,
They include Lansing, Carson City, Charlotte, Ionia, and St. Johns, as well as Physicians Health Plan, Sparrow Care Network, Sparrow Medical Group and the Michigan Athletic Club.
