UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals has announced plans to open the new Walnut Creek Outpatient Center in California, US, later this month.

Located in the Shadelands Business Park, the new expanded and renovated clinic will double the patient capacity.

It will provide services which are specially dedicated to children along with diagnostic and surgical procedures.

The Walnut Creek Outpatient Center expansion includes six private infusion and procedural rooms along with 12 new clinical exam rooms.

It will also have additional private haematology/oncology infusion rooms which are large enough to accommodate patient families.

The centre will also offer a new Eating Disorders Clinic and will double the access to phlebotomy services to accommodate the increasing volume.

It will provide expanded services including orthopaedic care, paediatric cardiology, ear nose and throat.

Additionally, the Walnut Creek Outpatient Center will provide access to some paediatric care for common and rare conditions.

The University of California said in a statement: “As part of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals network, it will also connect families directly to subspecialists when the need arises.”

The Walnut Creek Outpatient Center is claimed to be the only full-service medical centre which is dedicated to children care in Contra Costa County.

It offers expert care in over 20 paediatric specialties, along with an infusion centre, lab services, and diagnostic imaging in one facility designed for kids.

The facility also provides direct access to paediatric specialists at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, who partner with families for addressing the health care needs of children and adolescents.
