University of Florida Health has installed 16 Carestream DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray Systems that enable the health care providers to capture thousands of patient exams every month.

The DR imaging systems were installed at UF Health Shands Hospital, UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital and the new UF Health Heart & Vascular and Neuromedicine hospitals that opened in December. Together, these facilities have a total of 1,091 beds.

UF Health Shands Hospital technical director of radiology Jennifer Sirera said: “Our team decided to select a single supplier for the hospitals to enhance ease of use and productivity.

“We conducted a thorough comparison of portable imaging systems and unanimously selected the DRX-Revolution platform.”

Carestream Health’s DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray System offers better image quality and easy maneuverability, extended tube reach and is fitted with collapsible tower.

Technologists can view images and change techniques on a tube-based touch screen for increased efficiency and convenience.

The new systems are capable of using any DRX detector in any DRX imaging system, which ensures continuous uptime and greater imaging flexibility, according to Sirera.

These portable imaging systems help to carry out diagnostic imaging examinations in multiple ICU, NICU, OR, ER, burn ICU and pediatric ER areas.

Carestream DRX Plus and DRX 2530C cesium detectors are used by radiographers in standard and small-format sizes to deal with the changing imaging needs involved in delivering specialty care to a diverse patient population.
