The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) in the US has announced the renewal of its partnership with the Community Oncology Alliance (COA) for oncology care.

This collaboration underscores the shared goal of delivering quality, accessible cancer treatment to patients.

ACHC Community Care vice-president Matt Hughes said: “Both ACHC and COA are committed to addressing oncology pharmacy issues that may affect the delivery of oral treatments for cancer patients.

“This partnership strengthens our shared focus of supporting high-quality, personalised care for cancer patients.”

The alliance offers members of COA, including those of its affiliate Community Oncology Pharmacy Association (COPA), discounts on select ACHCU educational resources, as well as special pricing on ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation.

COA Clinical Initiatives director Judy Alberto said: “This partnership helps COA to continue delivering on its mission of ensuring patients across the country can access pharmacy care in their own communities at an affordable cost.

“Having ACHC accreditation helps put patients at ease knowing they are getting high-quality and standardised care.”

COPA advocates for medically integrated oncology and urology pharmacies, ensuring that patients have timely access to pharmacy services.

It also provides a network for professionals to share strategies for managing and optimising operations within an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

In a previous collaboration, ACHC partnered with WorldView last month to offer healthcare workflow automation and interoperability technology solutions.

WorldView customers gained preferred pricing on ACHC Accreditation services for hospice, home health, home care, and private duty services, enhancing the quality of patient care across various healthcare settings.
