AdventHealth has started construction on a new medical office building at its Zephyrhills campus in Pasco County, US, adding nearly 35,000ft² to accommodate new and employed physicians and expand local care access.

The ground-breaking ceremony highlighted the increasing demand in a community that AdventHealth Zephyrhills has been serving for four decades.

The facility will accommodate primary care, general surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology, urology, and several physician offices. Construction is anticipated to be completed by 2026.

Pasco County anticipates a 40% population rise by 2045, with the majority of employment and population growth projected to occur in the county's central region, spanning the South and Central Market Areas.

AdventHealth president and CEO Mike Murrill said: “AdventHealth Zephyrhills has been part of this community for 40 years, and we’re intentionally planning and building for the future.

 “This new space will allow us to recruit additional top physicians and provide them with the resources they need to deliver the highest quality of care.

“As our community grows, we remain committed to helping our neighbours heal and feel whole, close to where we live, work and play." 

Project partners include HuntonBrady Architects and builder Robins & Morton.

AdventHealth is also set to increase its capacity at Wesley Chapel in the future. The expansion will include a three-storey North Wing and a two-storey South Courtyard Infill, which will increase the number of licensed beds from 169 to 193.

In addition, there will be space to accommodate two more units, each with 24 beds.

Recent openings include the AdventHealth Meadow Pointe ER, which features 12 patient beds, imaging and laboratory services, two triage rooms, and a child-friendly room, thereby generating additional employment opportunities.
