The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and C8 Health have established a partnership aimed at granting clinicians access to their practice guidelines, standards, and statements at the time and place they require them.
C8 Health's solution consolidates best practices for health systems, individual clinicians, and hospitals.
This collaboration enables the integration of the guidelines of ASA into the workflows, local policies, and procedures of healthcare institutions.
ASA president Donald Arnold said: “ASA is excited to collaborate with C8 Health to provide clinicians with real-time, point-of-care access to our many practice-defining, peer-reviewed standards, guidelines, and statements.
“Ensuring physicians can quickly and easily reference ASA's guidance and clinical best practices, integrated with those of their hospital on a centralised platform, equips our members to most effectively impact patient safety and the quality of care provided by their anaesthesia and procedural care teams.”
The integration is expected to tackle deficiencies in clinical workflow efficiency and the implementation of evidence-based care.
This collaboration enhances C8 Health's offerings by introducing Evidence Compare, a feature that enables hospitals to assess their organisational protocols for compliance with international and national guidelines.
C8 Health CEO and co-founder Galia Rosen Schwarz said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with ASA to make their trusted guidance accessible to thousands of clinicians.
“Using our AI-powered solution, hospitals can easily stay current with the latest ASA perioperative guidance, while society leadership gains real-world insights into guideline implementation and adoption gaps across the country.”
Evidence Compare produces comprehensive reports that highlight discrepancies and optimisation opportunities, aiming to identify areas for quality improvement.
This feature offers insights into the adoption and impact of national guidelines within clinical practice.
Established in 1905, ASA comprises over 59,000 members dedicated to promoting the medical practice of anaesthesiology.
