DocGo, a mobile health services provider, has acquired PTI Health, a company specialising in mobile lab collection and phlebotomy services in the mid-Atlantic region.
This move aims to address the diagnostic care gaps for underserved populations by offering mobile phlebotomy lab services.
The acquisition allows DocGo to provide timely and convenient blood collection along with additional at-home testing services for patients, particularly for those who have limited access to transportation or traditional labs.
PTI Health's integration with the nation's two largest labs and its ordering platform will be leveraged to enhance DocGo's healthcare offerings.
DocGo plans to extend PTI Health's operations into New York City, targeting one of the largest urban markets in the US.
This expansion is expected to address the critical need for accessible lab and diagnostic services in the area.
DocGo CEO Lee Bienstock said: “By incorporating PTI Health’s mobile lab collection, phlebotomy services and clinical staff, we’re expanding our mobile health offerings and further strengthening our vertically integrated care model to bring diagnostic and primary care services to patients across our footprint.
“We believe this acquisition is a good example of our ability to expand our offering while leveraging our existing customer base to drive further growth at PTI. We are constantly seeking opportunities to leverage our balance sheet to complement our growth in 2025 and beyond.”
PTI Health serves homebound patients or those facing transportation challenges, with their clinicians conducting thousands of lab collections annually.
The experienced mobile phlebotomists at PTI Health facilitate in-home blood draws and other collections, ensuring seamless diagnostics and care for patients in coordination with their healthcare providers.
Its support for mobile clinical trials also adds a new dimension to DocGo's healthcare services.
PTI Health president Wayne Meadows will take on the role of general manager at DocGo, as part of the deal.
