The facility is intended to provide 24/7 emergency care with minimal wait times for residents.

Exceptional Community Hospital, a hospital facility in Amarillo, Texas, has reopened under new management and ownership.

The renovated hospital is intended to improve emergency healthcare services in the Texas Panhandle region.

It features updated interiors and expanded healthcare services to improve the patient experience, as well as offering infusion therapy services and access to physician specialists.

The facility is expected to provide 24/7 emergency care with minimal wait times for residents.

Under its new management, the hospital includes up-to-date equipment, onsite computerised tomography (CT) and X-ray scanning services, and a dedicated emergency team of board-certified physicians and experienced nurses.

Altus Community Healthcare president Brandon Moreno said: “We are honoured and humbled to now be a part of the Amarillo Community – one of the most exciting and fast-growing areas of Texas.

“Our values are aligned with the great people here, who deserve accessible, high-quality healthcare.”

Exceptional Community Hospital medical director Dr Donald Hubbard said: "We are excited to finally complete this transition, with new management and ownership committed to investing in the future of Amarillo."

Exceptional Community Hospital's parent organisation, Altus Community Healthcare, works to provide emergency care to various communities in Texas.

The company said the renovated Amarillo hospital will boost the quality of emergency medical services being offered to the local community.

Moreno added: “This expansion, along with the other 26 facilities we've acquired, could only be made possible by the support and vision of ZT Corporate and their leadership team.

“We are the largest operator of freestanding emergency centres in Texas.

“We're excited to take these healthcare facilities to the next level through our proven optimisation and efficiencies."

Earlier this year, Altus Community Healthcare acquired Exceptional Emergency Center, which operates 14 freestanding emergency centres across Texas.

The acquisition expanded Altus' footprint to 30 facilities in Texas, making it the state's largest operator of freestanding emergency centres.

Is the healthcare industry ready to fully embrace the benefits of digitalization and AI?

The healthcare, pharma, and medical devices industries are often risk-averse compared to other sectors when adopting new technologies. However, mainly due to COVID-19, these sectors have witnessed an acceleration in digital transformation. AI can revolutionize the drug discovery process and significantly reduce the time and cost to get a drug to market, particularly in areas of unmet need. There is also huge potential for AI in medical diagnostics. However, using healthcare data for AI development raises data privacy concerns, thereby limiting its adoption.
