Ibex and HNL Lab Medicine partner for prostate cancer diagnostics

The collaboration includes the initial validation and deployment of Ibex Prostate within HNL Lab Medicine’s LDT workflow.

Ibex Medical Analytics has signed a strategic partnership with US-based HNL Lab Medicine to deploy clinical-grade AI for prostate cancer diagnostics.

The collaboration centres on deploying Ibex’s AI solutions, Ibex Prostate, for both biopsies and transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) procedures, aiming to enhance diagnostic accuracy and streamline workflows.

HNL Lab Medicine has developed its digital pathology capabilities since 2023, utilising Proscia’s Concentriq platform alongside Leica Biosystems’ high-throughput imaging hardware.

Incorporating the Ibex AI layer into this infrastructure transitions HNL Lab Medicine’s operations from a digital approach to an AI-augmented practice.

The embedded workflow aims to establish a consistent standard for cancer diagnostics in the US market.

By adding Ibex Prostate, HNL Lab Medicine is expanding its diagnostic tools with specialised AI features. The solution assists pathologists in identifying and grading cancer, as well as other relevant findings in both TURPs and core needle biopsies.

Ibex Prostate serves as a diagnostic aid and safety net, supporting the pathologist’s review process and helping ensure that no suspicious lesion remains unexamined.

The collaboration includes initial validation and deployment of Ibex Prostate within HNL Lab Medicine’s laboratory-developed test (LDT) workflow for prostate cancer.

This deployment sets the groundwork for further development in their partnership, targeting advancements in AI-powered diagnostic solutions.
