InterSystems has partnered with Google Cloud to integrate InterSystems HealthShare with Google Cloud’s Healthcare API, delivering a harmonised, scalable, real-time data foundation to support generative and agentic AI applications.
The collaboration focuses on enabling cleaner, unified data for research, clinical, and operational use across an enterprise-grade cloud platform.
The partnership targets inconsistent and fragmented data in healthcare IT by combining InterSystems’ strengths in interoperability, data harmonisation, and identity resolution with Google Cloud’s AI-enabled analytics, secure infrastructure, and search capabilities.
The aim is to help healthcare organisations unlock AI’s potential with reliable, actionable data.
InterSystems' global healthcare solutions head Don Woodlock said: “AI is transforming healthcare, but it can only succeed when it's grounded in reliable, actionable data.
“By integrating HealthShare into Google Cloud's comprehensive health data and AI ecosystem, we are helping organisations ensure their data is interoperable and responsibly managed. This means providers can focus on improving workflows and delivering smarter care.”
InterSystems HealthShare offers a range of accelerators specific to electronic health records (EHR), including de-duplication, normalisation, terminology mapping, patient identity resolution, and data aggregation from various sources.
These features are seamlessly integrated into Google Cloud's Healthcare API, enabling customers to establish a scalable data foundation.
This integration facilitates the creation of a harmonised, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)-ready data environment that supports clinical, research, and operational decision-making, all while leveraging Google Cloud's AI-optimised infrastructure and BigQuery for advanced analytics.
It enables organisations to utilise generative and agentic AI models, including the Gemini models, on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform for initiatives related to population health, decision support, and administrative automation.
Additionally, it enhances security and interoperability, enabling seamless data exchange with current systems and standards to promote coordinated care.
Google Cloud global director Aashima Gupta said: “Healthcare organisations want to adopt AI solutions that are safe, responsible, and immediately useful.
“InterSystems is delivering a platform that simplifies data preparation and enables organisations to unlock the full value of their information by combining HealthShare's unique data curation with Google Cloud's advanced data processing and AI/ML capabilities.”
