Malaysia-based KPJ Healthcare is set to implement a secure communication platform from NetSfere across its network of 30 hospitals throughout the country.
The system will offer healthcare professionals end-to-end encryption, as well as video and voice calls, secure file sharing, and administrative controls to ensure compliance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act and the standards of the healthcare industry.
It also protects sensitive data and enables seamless partnership among these professionals.
NetSfere is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Malaysia and guarantees data sovereignty while providing real-time crisis alerts, centralised IT governance, and comprehensive audit capabilities.
The platform features the Net-C AI assistant that allows hospital staff and clinicians to access workflows and data securely in real time.
Complete data is stored within the country, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health and the Joint Commission International.
In March 2024, the solution was initially implemented at KPJ Pasir Gudang Specialist Hospital, subsequently followed by Johor Specialist Hospital and Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital.
NetSfere will continue to provide support to hospital management, clinical teams, nurses, and doctors.
KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Chin Chyuan said: "This partnership with NetSfere strengthens how our people connect and work together, as well as protects the trust our patients place in us.
“It gives our teams a secure platform to communicate and collaborate while ensuring the highest standards of data privacy. By strengthening this capability across our network, we are building the digital foundations that will enable safer, smarter care as we advance the KPJ Health System.”
NetSfere CEO and president Anurag Lal said: "We're thrilled to bring NetSfere to all 30 KPJ hospitals to give patients and staff the peace of mind that they are protected.
“Our platform was built to exceed international benchmarks for security, compliance and communication excellence. In today's healthcare environment, protective IT governance is not just a technology choice, it's a clinical imperative."
