Labcorp has launched Marker by Labcorp Genetic Health Panel, a test aimed at expanding consumer access to information about hereditary risks for more than 100 medically actionable conditions.

Available through Labcorp OnDemand, the test analyses 163 genes linked to hereditary cancer, cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders.

It also provides users with access to licensed genetic counsellors for guidance on interpreting test results and considering next steps.

Labcorp consumer health solutions vice-president Dr Leslie Saltzman said: “Genetic information can play an important role in identifying health risks before symptoms appear, yet millions of people are unaware they carry an inherited genetic variant associated with an increased risk of serious disease.

“The Marker by Labcorp Genetic Health Panel expands access to genetic health insights by combining genetic testing, genetic counselling support and Labcorp's genetics expertise into a single, convenient healthcare experience.

“Consumers can now access both biomarker and genetic testing through Labcorp OnDemand from a single source, supporting a more comprehensive approach to understanding their health.”

The testing process involves consumers purchasing the panel through Labcorp OnDemand, then scheduling a blood draw at one of the company’s more than 2,200 patient service centres. Trained phlebotomists collect the samples, which are analysed in laboratories.

Results are provided through Labcorp’s secure patient portal and MyLabcorp, and include a detailed report, educational resources tailored to the individual’s results, and access to a genetic counsellor.

Consumers also have the option to share their results with healthcare professionals to support further decisions about their care.

Through Labcorp OnDemand, the panel will be available from 3 August 2026.

Last month, Labcorp announced the availability of ColoSense, its ribonucleic acid-based at-home screening test for colorectal cancer that has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
