Finnish social care and healthcare provider Mehiläinen has signed an agreement to acquire Lithuania based InMedica Group from INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund, AB City and Litgaja.

Litgaja is controlled by InMedica founder and CEO Kęstutis Broniukaitis.

This acquisition is contingent upon regulatory approval and is a strategic move for Mehiläinen.

InMedica Group, a medical network, provides specialist, primary, dental, hospital care, along with mental health services and diagnostics in Lithuania.

Catering to a wide patient demographic, it serves individuals, corporations, and public health insurance beneficiaries.

The group has 89 facilities, facilitating more than 2.7 million physician visits each year and serves as the primary healthcare provider for over 310,000 patients.

InMedica board chairman Nerijus Drobavičus said: “After evaluating potential investors, we believe that Mehiläinen is the best possible next owner for the InMedica Group, as it has exceptional resources, capabilities, and the corporate culture to support InMedica Group’s continued growth and development.”

Mehiläinen and InMedica Group share similar service portfolios and business models.

Mehiläinen's acquisition of InMedica Group is not expected to directly affect the personnel or patients of InMedica Group.

Operations will continue as normal, ensuring a smooth transition for all parties involved.

Mehiläinen Baltic business line director Andreas Taalas said: “The private healthcare market in Lithuania is growing rapidly, and InMedica Group is a high-quality market leader with an excellent reputation. I’m excited to work with Kęstutis and the management team. Together, we can continue the successful growth and further enhance the services provided.”

Jefferies, Deloitte, LEK Consulting, and Walless advised InMedica Group while Porta Finance, EY and Cobalt served as Mehiläinen's advisors.
