Owlet and Locus Health to deliver infant health data into remote monitoring

The partnership enables clinicians to close the crucial gap between home and hospital.

Owlet has announced an infant care collaboration with Locus Health for delivering health data into remote patient monitoring programmes.

The partnership will connect data from Owlet’s FDA-approved BabySat prescription device into Locus Health’s platform directly.

This will offer clinicians timely and secure access to crucial health information for infants following their discharge from hospital.

Owlet reported that each year, nearly 500,000 infants are discharged from intensive care units in the US, with many needing continuous medical supervision.

The partnership enables clinicians to close this crucial gap between home and hospital, offering monitoring assistance for infants with intricate conditions such as arrhythmia, congenital heart defects and chronic lung disease.

Healthcare providers using Locus Health will be able to remotely track key vital signs, including pulse rate and oxygen saturation, via BabySat data.

The integration will automate frequent data updates, eliminate manual entry errors, and help inform clinical decisions while maintaining workflow simplicity for clinicians and minimising additional responsibility for parents.

Owlet president and CEO Jonathan Harris said: “For families and healthcare systems alike, the transition from hospital to home represents both a challenge and a tremendous opportunity to improve outcomes.

“By integrating Owlet’s technology with Locus Health, we’re extending our mission beyond the nursery by connecting our proven monitoring capabilities directly into clinical workflows. Together, we’re helping hospitals scale connected care and supporting families with the confidence and continuity they deserve.”

Locus Health co-founder and CEO Andy Archer said: “Our outcomes-based solutions for populations like congenital heart disease and neonatal ICU patients will be further enhanced with a partner like Owlet, providing vital biometric data through the Locus platform to care teams that increasingly need both timely insights and enhanced workflow efficiency.”

Recently, Owlet collaborated with Rhapsody for secure integration of infant health data from BabySat directly into existing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
