Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in the US has implemented Milagro’s AI-powered coding platform, following which notable enhancements were observed in the hospital’s surgical coding, as well as reimbursement procedures.

The implementation is part of Milagro’s expanded partnership with the hospital.

TGH is said to be the first client to implement Milagro’s advanced platform, and the company is available on the Epic Connection Hub.

In collaboration with TGH, Milagro has established a structured rollout approach, which lays the groundwork for future implementations.

This approach helps expand the reach of Milagro’s automated solution, designed to address key financial challenges in healthcare.

Among the notable outcomes of the collaboration between TGH and Milagro are a decrease in reimbursement denials, enhanced revenue capture, and the automation of same-day surgical code amendment requests.

Additionally, it contributed to reducing the financial impact of down-coding while allowing coding professionals to concentrate on more complex tasks, thus addressing challenges within the medical coding workforce.

The partnership resulted from continuous dialogue and a mutual goal between Milagro and TGH to utilise AI for improved healthcare efficiency.

Milagro noted that its AI-powered technology, incorporated into current workflows, enables healthcare organisations to enhance coding accuracy, remove pre-authorisation mismatch denials virtually, alleviate coder shortages, and speed up revenue cycles.

Founded in 2020 by a group of medical data specialists, Milagro aims to simplify medical coding and optimise coding processes.

The company is spearheading the transformation of autonomous medical coding, utilising advanced technology to automate coding workflows.

Before this development, TGH acquired a property in the Hyde Park area as part of a collaborative effort with the University of South Florida Health to expand specialised health care services across the Tampa Bay area.
