TigerConnect has acquired hospital smart room technology provider eVideon in a move to enhance hospital communication infrastructure.

This acquisition is set to create a unified healthcare communication system that supports various care models, including bedside, virtual and hybrid.

TigerConnect's suite of tools will now integrate with eVideon's smart room solutions, creating a scalable infrastructure that transforms the hospital room into a connected and intelligent setting.

This integration is designed to alleviate the operational burden on nurses by improving existing systems or providing a future-ready, comprehensive solution.

The smart room technology offers a range of features, including support for clinical communication, virtual care, nurse calls, immediate patient updates and on-demand patient education.

Nurses are expected to benefit from more time management, fewer interruptions, clearer task prioritisation, and reduced stress levels.

For IT teams, the combined solutions reduce vendor sprawl and provide a scalable platform that complements existing deployments while preparing for future advancements.

Hospital executives can anticipate cost optimisation with a double return on investment, improving both nurse and patient experience through a single investment.

Patients stand to gain from quicker responses, modern conveniences, increased autonomy and tailored communication, leading to meaningful connections with their healthcare providers.

Following the recent launch of TigerConnect's cloud-native workflow automation platform, CareConduit, this acquisition further establishes the company as a strategic unified communications partner for hospitals and health systems.

The integrated solutions aim to guide health systems towards digital maturity by providing a smart room architecture that supports both new facilities and legacy system upgrades.

TigerConnect CEO Sean O’Neal said: “Health systems are under pressure to improve nurse efficiency, deliver better patient outcomes, and modernise ageing infrastructure. We are providing the path to accomplish all three, while building the platform for the smart room of the future and putting hospitals at the forefront of delivering efficient, patient-centred care.”
