Vapotherm and Flight Medical have formed a partnership to introduce the VentO₂ux ventilator for US hospitals, broadening the former’s respiratory support offerings.

The collaboration aims to address the need for advanced ventilators suited to multiple care settings, including fast-paced emergency departments.

It also intends to support hospitals in minimising risk and optimising outcomes by providing adaptable respiratory technologies that streamline care processes and prioritise patient comfort.

The VentO₂ux ventilator is designed for critically ill respiratory patients and features a compact, lightweight design with advanced monitoring features.

It provides clinicians with enhanced mobility and supports improved patient care.

Vapotherm chief medical officer Jessica Whittle said: “Clinicians tell us every day that they need tools that are simple to use, reliable, and focused on patient comfort.

“By adding VentO₂ux to our product line, we are extending Vapotherm’s legacy of patient comfort focused respiratory support into full-featured mechanical ventilation, providing an emergency department–ready ventilator that is intuitive to use, highly portable, and aligned with the realities of crowded, high-acuity settings.”

Flight Medical CEO Amir Kleinstern said: “At Flight Medical, our mission has always been to deliver the highest quality ventilation product wherever patients need it.

“Partnering with Vapotherm allows us to bring the VentO₂ux platform to more hospitals throughout the US looking for ventilators that combine robust clinical performance with simplicity and portability.”

Working with clinicians, Vapotherm aims to enhance outcomes and the care experience across ICU, emergency, and other hospital environments.

Flight Medical develops, manufactures and markets ventilators designed for transport, hospital, long-term care, and home care settings.
