WellSky has integrated AI-powered ambient listening and transcription capabilities directly into its electronic health record (EHR) platform, WellSky Home Health, which is powered by SkySense AI.

This integration includes the new feature WellSky Scribe that captures provider-patient conversations in real time, automatically populating clinical documentation within the EHR workflow.

The platform is part of the SkySense AI suite.

The tool enhances the experience for both patients and clinicians by allowing healthcare professionals to focus on patient care during home health visits, supporting recruitment and staff retention.

Clinicians generally fill in more than 100 data fields during a single patient’s initial care visit. With numerous appointments scheduled each day, they often find themselves having to complete documentation outside working hours.

By utilising WellSky Scribe, they can concentrate on assessing patients and delivering care, as the documentation can be automatically populated into the EHR prior to final approval by the clinician.

WellSky analytics and AI executive vice-president Wes Little stated: “The demands on home health clinicians to assess patients, provide care and complete extensive documentation has led to burnout and workload issues, which contribute to the ongoing staffing challenges within the industry.

“WellSky Scribe is a great example of how we are responsibly introducing AI solutions that help solve real problems and create immediate value for our clients.”

During a visit, the clinician has the option to activate WellSky Scribe, which extracts and identifies relevant information and terms from the audible assessment, automatically populating the fields and forms within the WellSky Home Health EHR.

After the visit, the home health clinician can review the auto-populated data, verify its accuracy and submit it within minutes, saving time on documentation.
