WellSky buys long term care-focused healthtech Experience Care

The two companies will jointly invest in care coordination, interoperability, and analytics.

August 24 2023

US health technology firm WellSky has acquired compatriot Experience Care, which specialises in software solutions for post-acute and long-term care providers.

The financial terms of the transaction were not shared.

Experience Care chief operating officer Gina Barrett said: “The combination of our two companies will bring a whole new level of innovation to power long-term care organisations’ success.”

This merger is expected to position WellSky as a 'top technology partner' for care providers in the post-acute and long-term space.

Experience Care's electronic health record (EHR) platform, NetSolutions, caters to 150 long-term care customers with 850 facilities.

WellSky CEO Bill Miller said: “This is a transformational time for post-acute care providers. Workforce shortages, regulatory shifts, and changes to reimbursement can have a profound impact on care delivery.

“But it’s also a time of great potential in our industry, and that’s why it’s important providers have a single, trusted technology partner with solutions that offer full visibility into the patient journey.

“With the addition of Experience Care, WellSky becomes a well-resourced and scalable intelligent care management partner for long-term care providers.”

By joining forces with WellSky, Experience Care clients will gain access to a wider suite of solutions.

The two companies will jointly invest in care coordination, interoperability, and analytics.

Experience Care's team will remain under Barrett's leadership, with services remaining unchanged in the immediate term.
