Canada healthcare industry registered a 10.6% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.57% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.04% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 1.02% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Canada healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.26% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada healthcare industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.68% in July 2021, a 22.31% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.4% share, decline of 30.61% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.96%, registering a 28.17% rise from June 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.15%, up 12.73% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 37.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada healthcare industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Cognizant Technology Solutions posted 150 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 1150% over the previous month, followed by The Travelers Companies with 74 jobs and an 111.43% growth. International Business Machines with 74 IT jobs and Desjardins Group with 72 jobs, recorded a 17.78% drop and a 25% decline, respectively, while Dai-ichi Life Holdings recorded a 33.8% decline with 47 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.45%, up by 8.24% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.54% share, a growth of 18.13% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.61% share, down 1.03% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
