Canada’s healthcare industry registered a 0.1% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring a decreased by 2.62% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.77% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 69.09% in August 2021, registering an 8.25% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 10.48% share, a decrease of 1.67% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.7%, registering a 39.51% decline from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.99%, down 18.18% over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 3.87% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Cognizant Technology Solutions posted 172 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 10.97% over the previous month, followed by Intelerad Medical Systems with 40 jobs and a 25% growth. Power Financial with 38 IT jobs and International Business Machines with 37 jobs, recorded a 72.73% flat growth and a 47.89% decrease, respectively, while Accenture recorded a decline of 35.71% with 36 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.23%, down by 4.04% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.29% share, registered a decline of 25.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.12% share, down 31.33% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.36%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
