August 2021 has seen an increase of 8.54% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 20.29% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 4.86% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 76.41% in August 2021, a 7.19% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 7.69% in August 2021, marking a 28.57% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 5.13% in August 2021, a 23.08% drop from July 2021.

Top five healthcare companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 7.38% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s healthcare industry during August 2021 over previous month.

Discovery posted 47 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 26.56% over the previous month, followed by Check Point Software Technologies with 36 jobs and a 50% growth. International Business Machines with 21 IT jobs and Koninklijke Philips with 15 jobs, recorded a 16.67% rise and an 87.5% rise, respectively, while Old Mutual recorded a 50% increase with 12 job postings during August 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s healthcare industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 39.49% share in August 2021, a 4.94% decrease over July 2021. South Africa featured next with a 32.82% share, down 25.58% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 5.64% share, a growth of 120% compared with July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.08%, down by 2.38% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.54% share, registered a decline of 16% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15.38% share, flat growth over July 2021.
