Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations drive virtual care-related hiring activity
Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 43%, emerged as the top virtual care-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 70% quarter-on-quarter. Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 64% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent virtual care roles include Management Occupations with a 4% share in Q3 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 46% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were HCA Healthcare, Your World Healthcare, Virtua Health, Centura Health, and Mission Health. Together they accounted for a combined share of 46% of all virtual care-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.
HCA Healthcare posted 1,849 virtual care-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Your World Healthcare 1,285 jobs, Virtua Health 1,228 jobs, Centura Health 1,216 jobs, and Mission Health 703 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with an 87.77% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of virtual care-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 87.77% followed by the UK (8.74%) and Australia (1.70%). The share represented by the US was nine percentage points lower than the 96.99% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
