July 2021 has seen an increase of 6.91% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 15.82% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 1.6% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 65.78% in July 2021, a 43.59% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.61% in July 2021, marking a 17.5% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.96% in July 2021, an 111.76% growth from June 2021.

Top five healthcare companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 33.88% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s healthcare industry during July 2021 over previous month.

International Business Machines posted 151 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 49.16% over the previous month, followed by AIA Group with 40 jobs and an 81.82% growth. Accenture with 20 IT jobs and Conduent with 17 jobs, recorded a 25% growth and a 29.17% drop, respectively, while Fiserv recorded a 100% increase with 14 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s healthcare industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 22.92% share in July 2021, a 40.82% rise over June 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 15.28% share, up 64.29% over the previous month. Jamaica recorded a 14.29% share, a drop of 79.13% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.45%, down by 19.26% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.25% share, a decline of 52.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.97% share, up 14.29% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
